The Capital Pipeline Stages
The pipeline moves investors through six stages, each with its own tracking fields and actions. Every stage is designed to capture what matters at that point in the relationship — without requiring you to manage a separate CRM.
1. Target
Build your investor target list with name, firm, fund stage, target check size, and source. Tag investors by connection type — warm intro, cold outreach, event, or accelerator — so you know where each relationship stands before you reach out.
2. Outreach
Track initial contact attempts and follow-ups. Log the outreach method and timing so no warm lead goes cold from a missed follow-up. Set a next step and due date on every investor record to keep your pipeline moving.
3. Meetings
Log every conversation with structured meeting notes, date, and outcome. Track substages to distinguish first calls from second meetings, partner calls, and final partner meetings. Know exactly where each relationship is in the relationship arc.
4. Diligence
Track investors who are actively conducting due diligence. Log their requests, link your data room, and record responses so nothing slips during the most important part of the raise.
5. Committed
Record soft circles, hard commitments, and wired amounts separately so you know the difference between an enthusiastic yes and a signed check. Track commitment totals against your round target in real time.
6. Closed
Mark investors as closed when funds are confirmed. Track your round instrument — SAFE, convertible note, or equity — valuation cap, discount, and final close date to maintain a clean cap table foundation.
What the module actually helps you do
Pipeline visibility
See every investor in the raise at a glance — their stage, last activity, next step due date, and target check size — without digging through email threads or spreadsheet rows.
Relationship continuity
Log every meeting with notes and outcome so you never walk into a follow-up call without context. The meeting log lives on the investor card, not in a separate notes app.
Round progress tracking
Track soft circles, hard commitments, and wired amounts separately against your round target. The summary bar shows exactly how close you are to close at any moment.
Follow-up discipline
Set a next step and due date on every investor record. Overdue actions surface on the card so warm relationships do not go cold from a simple missed email.

FAQ
What does the Capital module track?
It tracks your full investor pipeline from target list through close, including meeting logs, diligence status, commitment amounts, and round-level instrument and valuation details.
How is the pipeline organized?
The pipeline uses a kanban board with six stages: Target, Outreach, Meetings, Diligence, Committed, and Closed. A separate Passed column lets you track declined investors without cluttering the active funnel.
Can I track multiple investors in the same round?
Yes. Each investor is tracked as an individual card with its own check size, source, meeting log, and commitment details. The round summary bar aggregates committed amounts across all stages.
